In the fourth quarter of 2023, the top social networking apps in Croatia exhibited varied performance trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Here’s a closer look at the data from Sensor Tower for WhatsApp Messenger, Facebook, Telegram Messenger, Rakuten Viber Messenger, and Threads, an Instagram app.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced a stable revenue trend, starting at around $26 in late September and peaking at $30 in the week of November 20. Downloads fluctuated throughout the quarter, with a notable increase from 7.6K to 10.7K in December. Weekly active users remained relatively consistent, hovering around 2M.

Facebook saw significant revenue fluctuations, beginning at $950 at the start of the quarter and spiking to $1.4K in mid-December. Download numbers were fairly stable, with a peak at 8K in the final week of December. The app maintained a strong user base, with active users increasing slightly from 2.2M to 2.3M over the quarter.

Telegram Messenger had a steady revenue increase, peaking at $1.3K in late November. Downloads showed a downward trend, decreasing from 5.2K in early October to 4.1K by the end of December. Weekly active users also saw a decline, falling from around 173K to 159K.

Rakuten Viber Messenger reported a steady rise in revenue, reaching $526 in mid-December. Downloads fluctuated, with a peak of 5.9K in the last week of December. The app maintained a solid weekly active user base, increasing from 263K to 289K over the quarter.

Threads, an Instagram app, despite being a newer entry, saw a significant increase in downloads, jumping from 9.2K in early December to 19.5K by the end of the month. Active users also surged, from 7.8K to nearly 40K in the same period.
